GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - An inaugural luncheon in Green Bay on Wednesday recognized football legends.

The Pro Football Retired Players Association (PFRPA) celebrated retired players and presented awards to people who contribute to the community of former football players and help them adjust to the change in their lives.

“When the game is over, you’re back home,” said NFL Hall of Famer and former Chicago Bears linebacker Mike Singletary. “You and your wife and your family and there is no locker room. And a lot of players struggle with that for a while. It’s like a veteran getting out of the Army.”

As part of this fundraising event, three people received a Champions Award in recognition of their efforts. They are Packers director of community outreach Cathy Dworak and former Packers players Chris Jacke and Harry Sydney.
