Aug 12, 2024

PFRPA
National Nonprofit Day, observed annually on August 17, provides an opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions of nonprofit organizations and their impact on society.

PFRPA is the first independent and court-established retired NFL player organization, exclusively designed to develop programs and benefits for the betterment of retired NFL players, who gave their all on the gridiron for their teams, teammates, families and fans.

Read more below about National Nonprofit Day and why it is important to the work PFRPA does.

What is National Nonprofit Day?
National Nonprofit Day is a day dedicated to amplifying the voices and efforts of those working to make a difference in society, and to encourage others to contribute to these important causes. It serves as a reminder of the crucial role that nonprofit organizations play in our communities and beyond.

Why Is National Nonprofit Day Relevant to PFRPA?
PFRPA oversees the Greater Good Fund, its 501(c)(3) charitable foundation, which is specifically designed to develop health, welfare and educational programs for retired NFL players. Today, we offer retired players dental and vision insurance. We strive to ensure that the thousands of players we serve have access to and are aware of the resources available to them.

As a champion for retired NFL players, PFRPA’s mission is to better the lives of those who gave so much to the game. After hanging up their cleats, life after football varies for every player. We strongly believe that each player, no matter what their position or how long they played, should receive some level of support. We're passionate about our members, and that's what drives us to tackle issues that matter to them.

Where Does a Donation to PFRPA’s Greater Good Fund Go?
Through the Greater Good Fund, tax-deductible donations of any amount will assist in providing retired NFL players with impactful benefits, including dental and vision care, as well as supporting programs to ensure their legacy is preserved.

Your Contribution will:

  • Make a direct impact on the lives of retired NFL players and their families, to ensure they receive the care and support they deserve following their playing career.
  • Help PFRPA to sustain the Benefits and Programs available and provide continuous improvement to these resources.
  • Enable the growth and development of new opportunities to better the lives of retired NFL players both personally and professionally.

How To Make a Donation
This National Nonprofit Day, consider giving a one-time gift or a monthly recurring contribution to PFRPA’s Greater Good Fund. A donation of as little as $5 per month can make a big difference. Whether you want to honor the NFL retiree in your life or simply show your support as a fan, your tax-deductible donation is a way to give back in appreciation of those who built the game.
